10662134.17 - Embedded Systems
With an ever increasing need, embedded systems are being used in commercial, consumer and residential products. Smart homes, cell phones, and MRI machines all use some form of embedded system. This course will introduce the student to an FPGA based soft processor. Assembly and C language programming will be used to understand the concepts of memory systems and devices, bus systems, microprocessor architecture, A/D and D/A conversions, serial and parallel communications, interrupts and interfacing to various external devices.
